As you may be aware, in order to fulfil present and future community health workforce needs, NT PHN conducts an annual Health Workforce Needs Assessment (HWNA) that describes the current state of the primary health workforce in rural and remote NT. The HWNA is a crucial part of planning and launching initiatives to provide sustained access to primary healthcare services. The greatest challenge is finding appropriate and long-term primary healthcare workers in rural and remote areas. Due to problems with workforce retention, a shortage of professionals, and changes to healthcare facilities, many localities do not have enough access to comprehensive health care.
